Septemberfest Launched United Way 2010-2011 Community Campaign
September 12, 2010

Septemberfest at Fawcett Place * VivaPop All-American Soap Box Derby on Avenue

Septemberfest and the VivaPop All-American Soap Box Derby on September 12th made for a perfect community kick-off to the Greenwich United Way's 2010-2011 Campaign. The scene included thirty eleven and twelve-year-old racers, family, fans and sponsors rooting them on from the Greenwich Avenue sidelines. United Way partner agencies and volunteers provided a variety of Septemberfest activities at Fawcett Place - scene of the United Way blimp, the finish line, and awards presentations at the end of the race.

Each year over 500 United Way volunteers research local needs, coordinate the delivery of health and human services, and raise funds through the Annual Campaign to provide much needed support for them. The United Way is the largest non-governmental source of funding for health and human service programs in our community.
